This app was created by Brayden Matsko, Braden Decker’s boyfriend (a software engineer who specializes in educational technology applied to enterprise environments). It’s designed to facilitate a lesson, but also to show intentional technology use in the classroom. At a time when there is a lot of discourse around EdTech, there are still positive ways to use technology in a way that could not have the same effect through a non-digital medium.
Brayden works for the Learning Technology Center (opens in a new tab), a government program funded by ISBE to help educators (pre-service, and in-service) to understand and implement technology in the classroom. We support every teacher, student, and administrator in Illinois.
Digital accessibility means everyone can use a tool, whether they read with a screen reader, use a keyboard, have low vision, or find some fonts hard to read. When a classroom tool isn't accessible, some students are left out of the lesson. Public schools also have legal duties here: under the ADA, school websites and apps must meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. Review is designed to meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA, a step beyond that requirement. That includes:
Despite Brayden’s involvement, this application was not designed or endorsed by the Learning Technology Center (ltcillinois.org (opens in a new tab)). The Learning Technology Center (LTC) helps Illinois schools use technology well, with professional learning, events, and support for educators.
Want to learn more about how to use technology in the classroom? Our upcoming Hi, Ai conference is designed as a showcase of both Human Intelligence (Hi) and Artificial Intelligence (Ai) designed specifically for educators. Higher Education students can attend for just $30 when using their .edu email.
